Have taken my truck to Steve a few times and he has always been honest with me, even charged me less than quoted for a job.

I do a lot of work on my own vehicles, which in the time I've known Steve have included a Subaru Legacy wagon, a Toyota 4Runner, a Chevy 3/4 ton truck and a Jeep Cherokee. Even though I do a lot of my own work, I sometimes have had to let someone else work on them. I've had my fair share of bad experiences with mechanics, and as I know a lot of what they know and don't know, I also know when they aren't competent or to be trusted. Unless I have a problem I can't fix when I'm out of town like the recent fuel line which got a hole worn through it when I was in Idaho, no one else now touches any of my vehicles except for Steve. I'm impressed with his honesty, his knowledge, his abilities and all of which count for a lot. I know he'll also send people to other shops when, even though he can do the work, the other shop is set up to do it faster or easier for the customer. A quality that's hard to find and much appreciated. It goes back to his honesty and attitude about treating people right and isn't that what it all comes down to? He might be a little crusty on the outside, but get past the curmudgeon side and let him help you with whatever problem you're having with your car.
