Having been sorta-burned by a number of mechanics (including a local dealership that claimed to have one of the East Coast's only Toyota specialists ( I can hear the laughs from here) I didn't completely trust Bud for the first set of repairs, but this guy isn't just a mechanic. He's amazing! And he doesn't pay me to write this, I'm just grateful to have a good mechanic! He even does the unheard of: fixes the little things he sees he hasn't been asked directly to do! I love it! Let's put it this way, he's the first mech. out of 4 to make my car idle smoothly. He even kept the carb. working over 2 years by spraying de-gunking stuff into it to keep it working while I procrastinated on getting a rebuilt carb put in. Very often the repairs are completed earlier than he originally guessed, and calls to let me know its ready. A Straight Talker And Doer! His basic story: originally had big shop, number of employees near Wash., DC but got sick of it and moved back home to WV (1.5 hrs from DC) and does all the work himself. His wife helps w/ the office stuff. Warning: He _will not_ let you drive off in your repaired vehicle until he is paid. (Been burned too many times.) He does take cash, check or C-Cards. No Amex.

Wife: I encontered a piece of firewood on the interstate, which lodged under the front end, scraping the pavement. Although the towtruck driver who responded removed it and said nothing was damaged, I had him tow the vehicle (VW Jetta wagon) to Bud, since he was close. Bud checked it out and reported that the "shroud" had lost a piece. He offered to replace it, or to just remove it - declared it not worth having. Worked for me, and no charge.
