The "they aren't cheap" part is right, but from pulling me out of a snow plow induced snow bank to fixing my brakes, they were very quick in response. When I told them I was a student, they tried to cut me a break on the cost though.

My boyfriend goes to them for repairs and always comments on how nice and accomodating the guys are. The couple times he's gone there to drop off his car they took time to talk and explain exactly what is wrong and what is necessary to fix now and what can wait. They seem to be very honest and definitely are nice guys. I called them this winter because my tire was riding rough and feeling wobbly suddenly. He suggested that I might have ice built up around my tire and said if I wanted to come in he would run warm water through it for me and see if that solves it. It ended up that he was right because after I left my car out in the sun for a while the wobbly/bumpy feeling was gone. Super nice guys and super smart. Oh yeah, and when I was shopping for a new car back in 2004 I brought a used car to them to check out and they looked at it for me and gave me a very thorough opinion of the vehicle (which I decided not to buy based on their inspection). They refused to let me pay them for checking my car out. They charge about the same as the dealer I used to go to but it's worth it for what they do for free and for how nice and helpful they are. Plus if you're a student they give you a discount!

i agree that they tell you which repairs are critical and which can wait. my feeling is that they are honest, and i have learned (the hard way) to do the repair when i am told. my guess is that they are most likely not the cheapest, but i do trust them. they are on a bus line, and they will offer a free ride if they have the driver availble. they did a pre purchase inspection of a vehicle for my husband. we did purchase the vehicle, but saved about $800 by knowing what work was needed which the dealer completed at no cost.

Like is said in all the reviews, they aren't the cheapest place, but they do things right. This was an expensive summer for my Civic, after years without problems a few things went wrong. After a couple of recommendations, I gave Riverside a shot. I first went in for some suspension noise, they listed things out told me what needed to be done now and what could wait. They are friendly, fast and seem to get the job done right. They have squeezed me twice for repairs, and I really appreciate that. So IMO it's worth the cost.

My wife's car had a major brake related breakdown over the winter, in a snowstorm, but Riverside was able to tow her, fix her, and get her back on the road in less than six hours despite what looked like a full car port. Pricing is probably above the major chain stores and brake shops but small business owners like these guys stay in business despite their prices because they're local, they're honest, and people trust them.

This is a great neighborhood shop on Milwaukee's east side. It's in a convenient location for anyone living in the neighborhood or downtown. Repair prices are reasonable - not cheap, but much less expensive than going to the dealer for the same quality of work (if not better). They are honest about what repairs need to be completed to fix the issue at hand & what repairs don't or would need to be made at a later time. I've only used this shop twice; each time my vehicle was done ahead of schedule.
