Raul is a very kind, good person and a very smart and capable mechanic and the guys he has working for him are great as well. He honestly assesses what your car needs, explains why it needs it and what he is going to do to fix it, gives a fair estimate of the cost and then does it for that. There have never been any surprises. He always watches out for you too: I have an older (1981) mercedes that needed a transmission. A new one would have cost more than the car is worth. He found a wrecked mercedes with a good transmission and installed it in my car for a very reasonable price. He saved us from having to either spend a ton on a transmission or junk the car. That was a few years ago and the car still runs like a champ! Raul has a bit of an accent (originally from Ecuador) but don't let that throw you--he is the real deal--a car mechanic who is really smart and capable AND someone who cares about you too.

I found Pallo's on Car Talk after I got stranded at work when a wire went bad without warning on my starter on my '02 VW Jetta. I normally do my own work, but since I was stranded and wasn't sure it was the starter, I had it towed to Pallo's. When I went to pick it up, without me asking, he brought me into the shop and showed me what went wrong with the starter. I was very pleased with overall service and labor costs (the part was more expensive than I could have gotten it for at a parts store, but they got part same day vs me having to order it and wait a day or 2). This was my first trip there, but I would definitely go back if I have any work I can't/don't want to do myself.
