If you own a Saab, this is THE place in the Fox Valley to go. One of the main reasons everyone in my family drives Saabs is because Dan at the Auto Shop is the most honest mechanic you'd ever meet. His repairs area always reasonble. He has most parts on hand, including hard to find Saab parts. If your on a tight budget he is real good about finding suitable used parts. I've gone to him with problems that turned out to be nothing more than a loose vacum hose (of course I didn't know that). He looked at it and reconected the hose, no charge. Some repair shops would have invented something to fix. Dan lives and breaths Saab (including racing them). As far as I'm concerned the Auto Shop is the only place to go for Saab repair.

Dan Burhans has worked hard to develop the kind of image that other used car dealers can only dream of. While he does body work on any car, and will sub out any work he feels someone else can perform better (i.e., 4-wheel alignments, fram straightening, sound system repair), his favorite machines are older Saabs. He will find older Saabs and buy to order, rendering what he has found into brand new condition. His pricing is always fair. If he feels he doesn't have room to store my car after it has been serviced, he'll drive it to my house and leave it in my drive with instructions for payment and key retrieval. I live about a half mile away. He does this for other customers, too. Dan LOVES Saabs. He races them quite successfully on weekends - summer AND winter; his children do, too. Seriously, if Dan Burhans sold and repaired old beater AMC Gremlins in the same fashion, I would buy them from him.

I bought my '98 Saab convertible from Dan after test driving some at other lots because Dan took the time to show me the various features of the car, grinning from ear- to-ear as he put the top down for the test drive (assuring me I would be plenty warm even if the temperature that day was 57 - He was right!). The price was fair, too! Since then, he has fixed minor things on the car without an appointment while I waited. He warrants his used vehicles and follows through on his promises. Dan gets excited about Saabs. He clearly loves what he does. Each of his cars are his "children", and I know my beautiful green "baby" is in good hands when I leave her with Dan.

I have been taking my vehicles to Dan Burhans at the Auto Shop ever since I moved to central Appleton in 1983. When I needed a 3rd vehicle in the 90's for my late-HS teens to drive, I visited Dan's shop and he shot me a great deal on an '87 Saab 9000 Turbo because he thought I should be driving something "...with a little class." I haven't bought any vehicle anywhere else since. I'm on my 4th Saab, a 2000 9-5 Aero, and I couldn't be any happier. He has repaired things under his own warranty and in lieu of a factory warranty. There is no better advertising than word-of-mouth, and Dan deserves the best. His son Tony is great, too. They've turned over only one employee since I've been going there; THAT speaks volumes !! Hooray for Dan Burhans and the Auto Shop. I'd buy a used YUGO from him if he said it was a great deal.
