Orland is a great mechanic for starving college students. He will work on anything you can drag in (though he won't do tuneups on newer (post 1980) vehicles...he does reccommend very competent alternative shops for that) he has repeatedly refused to do unnecessary repairs. he sold me two retreads when I came in for four new tires because he said two of my tires were usable and that given the age of my pickup, it would never outlast the retreads (he was right) he always does a little something for free. On my vehicles over the last decade or so he has drilled out a broken bolt on the starter mount and replaced it (free), fixed a frozen electric window, free, adjusted alignment for free, repaired some interior trim (actually , the whole inside of the hatch back was hanging by a single little plastic bolt. he put it all back up). He always replaces fuses and hands me a few extra. I have to move this july and he is the one thing about this godforsaken town I will miss.

I have dealt with Orland for over 15 years now. He has always been fair, on time, and honest. He is exceptionally careful about making sure I understand what work has been done, what work needs to be done, and how long I can drive the vehicle before a repair will become essential.

This is an excellent shop. They are honest, timely, clear
and careful. I have never had them make a mistake or
misdiagnose a problem. They are one of the few shops in
this college town that does not exploit young, and
especially female, customers.

Orland sold the business to another very honest, polite,
kind young gentleman named Gordon. Gordon has kept the
same excellent mechanics and they continue to provide
excellent service. I too, am a struggling student and
they have kept my collection of jalopies in running order
the past four years. They never fail to alert me to a
possible upcoming problem and one time when something came
apart a week after they fixed it, they fixed it again at
no charge, explained what had happened and it has since
remained fixed. When they can't fix a certain problem they
provide information on where to go and where you may not
want to go for help. They have also done little things for
free and they appreciate their customers and treat them
well. I will be sad when i have to go out into the real
world(another town) and have to find another mechanic.
