Our 1998 Subaru Legacy ran out of coolant and I failed to notice until the engine had overheated. This was years ago. Since then, we have had three head gaskets replaced. An import specialist and a Subaru specialist shop did these jobs. Unfortunately the check engine light kept lighting up and the engine performance was weak after all of this. We were told by a Subaru dealer that the 1998 Legacy had a valve problem and we needed another head gasket. My wife told me that we needed a new engine. Ouch ! She was right, but that was a lot of money. I looked on the web for Subaru engines and found -The Subaru Guru. Mark Bryant -The Subaru Guru- checked our engine and found that it had warped and was beyond repair. He put an engine that had been rebuilt by his shop for the price that he had quoted to repair ours. He replaced the catalytic converter and got the cooling system up to specification and relaced old hoses etc. Mark takes pride in his work. I told him to detail our car while he was at it. It wasn't expensive and I recommend it. It looks like a new car. The engine compartment looks better than new ! Mark is a great guy and really worked with us. He explained the work done and proper maintenance procedures. The bill was more than fair. The engine should have been replaced years ago.

This was my first visit with my new (Used) Outback. My A/C was not working, and they fixed it and went over other upcoming issues...fair pricing it seemed. Also stopped a slow oil leak near the filter. I am happy that they are one mile away from my work, and they seem to know what is what with Subarus... Too early to tell on some of the questions; I will add as we go along!
