I've taken a Toyota to them for a minor radiator "burp" (I didn't have time to do it myself). Their prices are what everyone else's are in town, they're pretty nice to talk to, and they seem to know what they're doing. They're not condescending and seem fairly honest.

This shop is run cleanly, competently, and honestly. I have taken a Honda, Toyota, and a Saab to this shop and they have always accurately explained the problems, given accurate cost estimates, and fixed the problems the first time. They have even stayed late to accomodate my schedule. The owner will take the time to explain the problem in as much detail as you need, and has yet to screw up with any of my repair needs. Fair warning: the owner clearly has red-neck tendencies and does not suffer fools. He can be a bit gruff at times.

George took on my truck after another mechanic totally screwed it up and after a couple others couldn't figure out what to do. All the people I've referred to Independent have been happy with the service and not at all put off by George's initial crotchety demeanor.
