This shop is owned/operated by Steve Barrup and there are only three things that you need to know about his competency as a automotive technician: 1) He used to teach mechanics and will give you a brief automotive lesson on the how and why of what went wrong with your car. 2) When the other repair shops in the northern half of Vermont can't fix it, they send it to him. 3) When his customers move out of state, they still continue to drive hours (or have their cars towed) to him for all their automotive repair needs! I've yet to find someone in the Boston area that is as reliable, competent and trustworthy as him.

Steve Barrup is the most competent and patient mechanic I have ever dealt with. When others told me I needed expensive repairs Steve has either found them unnecessary or done the work cheaper. He always looks up warranty and maintenence information online and keeps you informed of next service needed (or recalls, etc.). He takes the time to explain what he has done(never in a condescending way, ask my wife), and returns all replaced parts. His prices are fair and work is completed in good time.
