gave russell (the boss) my subaru imprezza for state inspection. told him to replace the had 100k miles on it, 2/3rds city driving; figured it must need brakes. Russell called up, said brakes were in good shape, didn't need replacing. This is first mechanic i ever gave $200 to, who refused it! I should have known; he been honest about everything else... says he "prefers to sleep well instead of worrying about who might catch on to being screwed."

Russell took the time to look at my car and help me figure out other options (including other shops that specialized) because he knew that I had a limited budget. When we had to get the part from the dealer, he was given multiple prices by the dealer and instead of charging me a lot he gave me the lowest price and said he would hash it out with the dealer. The car has been working great since and he had it done quickly.
