Salas has been around for a long time and has a very large client list. You have to make an appointment and they may have your car a few days depending on what you need done. The prices are great and the work is good. They don't try to rope you into all kind of repairs you don't need. Straight talk and no bs. Small town garage feel to the place.

I needed to have ball joint work done and have wheel bearings greased. The dealer that inspected it wanted $1200.00 to do the work. I had the work done at Salas today for around $385.00. Reasonable is not the word for it. I would take my truck back there in a pair of seconds.

Using Car Talk's advice, I took my 130,000 mile Camry into Salas Auto before moving to Chicago based on other recommendations here. I got an oil change and asked them to look everything over to see if anything major was wrong. I expected to pay $150 at least, based on my experience with the dealer. My shock - everything was fine, except the tires (which I suspected; they had 70K on them). Limited experience, but they seemed honest, quick, and beyond reasonable.
