Fred and John are the most honest and friendly mechanics I have met in this area. They paitently respond to questions, are quick with a return call and have always been right ion the money with costs and estimates. They know the value of a return customer.

We started taking our cars to Berg, the father, about 12 years ago and now his sons, Freddie and John, run the place. They have worked on our trucks (Toyota, F150), our aged 1964 MGB, my AWD Nissan Sentra, my K-car wagon, and my Dodge Colt before that. In addition to servicing, they have had our cars "state-inspected", have arrange body work at discounts, and make everything easy on us. Freddie also sometimes sells cars at very reasonable rates. Berg has given me rides to metro and home when needed and they have installed parts from junk yards for us (transmission). They also do work high performance vehicles (though we don't have any!) We always are saving money and doing only what needs to be done and they are great at cost-saving measures. My friend who goes there, likes them to do all the preventative stuff and they do the "works" for her. Very honest and fair.

Freddie has always been very responsive and helpful. He is an honest mechanic and he won't sell you something you don't need.

When no one else would work on my car Freddy not only fixed it but continued to provide an outstanding level of support throughout my projects. He's done excellent work on my Acura, Nissan, MB and Subaru. Also all my friends and coworkers now use him because of his fair pricing and excellent work.

Freddie gave me a very competitive quote for major services (timing belt, water pump, all drive belts, cabin air filter, etc) He was a couple of hundred dollars lower than the rest. His father gave my wife a ride to and from work. The vehicle was ready on time as promised. He even double checked everything once I brought the vehicle back for something and explains his work very well. Good place...knows what to do and gets it done. Nice people to deal with...I'll bring my car back to him a gain whenever needed and will also recommend this place to someone looking for a good and honest mechanic. June 2008

Excellent mechanic. I came in here for a second opinion on some major repairs I was quoted, and they told me that my mechanic had lied to me about the necessary repairs. Freddy even took me underneath the car and explained the bits and pieces. I know where my area mechanic is now. People, go here.

I found Freddie through the Car Talk website, and he has been a godsend. I have always been very satisfied with the work he does and in the case where there are options he will talk you through what can be done, the benefits and costs. His prices have always been reasonable, and I can always drive away feeling good about the quality of the work that he does.
