In the half a dozen or so times I have taken my automobile to Don's for work I have always been charged less money than the original estimate. This is because Don has charged me for the labor time it actually took to do the repair work and not on the 'book time'. Once when he couldn't fix my car as the problem was with an electrical part he could not get through his normal parts network, he replaced the distributor cap and rotor and checked all of the plugs and plug wires and charged me nothing! He wouldn't even take the money for the cap and rotor when I offered. He only told me that to get the car fixed as fast as possible to take it to the dealer who would be able to get the part within a day or so (as this is my only car this was very important to me). Another example of his honesty and fast service would be when I had the timing and drive belts changed. The dealer prices ranged from $330 to $380 plus tax. Don did the job for less than $240 including tax. This type of person you just don't find in an area that is becoming so heavily influenced by the Manhatan attitude. Thanks Don and keep up the great work!!

How fabulous is it to have such a great mechanic live two blocks away! Drop the car off and walk home. For those of you who live farther away than that - don't come to Don! I am a selfish sonovagun and don't want him working on all your cars when I might need him! Best value with a greasy wrench. He may not have the latest and greatest diagnostic gear, but he'll find out what's wrong with the car and then tell you if he can fix it or not. And a great price. It's just so great these days to be able to TRUST someone like this.
