I have recommended Mercer & Woodson to everyone I know. They do make mistakes, but I have found them to be very honest and concerned for my interests. Here's just one story which says it all: My wife brought in her '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee for repair. Just after she left the shop, her hood flew open and she nearly had an acccident. We assume that the mechanic didn't close the hood properly, but later learned form the body shop that the safety latch was also broken -- the two factors apparently conspired to cause the hood to open while my wife was driving. It was the reponse to this incident that demonstrates how Mercer $ Woodson values their customers. Not only did they immediately offer to pay our deductable and for a rental car, but THE NEXT TIME WE BROUGHT ONE OF OUR VEHICLES IN (my wife dropped off our '84 Ford F150 when she picked up the Jeep), THEY DIDN'T CHARGE US FOR THE REPAIRS TO THE PICK-UP! (I had previously gotten an estimate of $375.00 for the repair that they completed for free). I unconditionally recommend Mercer & Woodson!

These guys are good, they are friendly, they are honest. They have kept both my cars in great shape the past seven years. They do simple oil changes and as well as major work (I had the AC completely replaced in my Toyota Camry last year --for under $1000, by the way--they are currently replacing the transmission in the same car). They never seem too busy to talk to you. Don't let the outside appearance of this place fool you (the shop is an old gas station ). They simply do Quality work at a reasonable price.

I've been dealing with these guys for 15 years, and feel they are indeed worthy members of the Click & Clack Goodwrench Club. Bruce and Gary have handled everything from a CV joint our old Honda to repairing the gas tank float on my '58 Caddy. They abide by the "Krispey Kreme Donut Discount"---for you lamebrains who are not familiar with this creedo---you tape your car key to the hood of a box of HOT Krispy Kreme donuts (don't even bother with Dunkin' Donuts...) This will garantee that they will repair your car without screwing up anything else on the vehicle!

Very helpful with problems with older sick cars. They have a good sense of what's reasonable to do and what's not. Work has always been well done and timely. All around good guys who like being mechanics and know what they know.

I first noticed this shop when I saw what I thought was a Cord convertible parked in hte lot. It was a Cord by the way, I checked. They will also service your Ferrari (last week) or your Yugo, anything in the list above and beyond. Gary has helped and encouraged me to find info on a 1950 Hudson my Dad bought for me and my sons to restore. I reccommend them because they have lots of experience, understand physics and economics. Just like Click and Clack.
