After experiencing the frustration of being lied to and cheated by the local Honda dealer, I was so happy to find Abe and AK Auto. He gave me the the straight truth, good advice, and fixed my Civic's problems. Great service! I'll be back (as will my friends and family).

AK Auto, corner of Nutley St and Lee Highway in Fairfax, is one of the best shops I've ever dealt with. The owner, and head mechanic, is helpfull, willing to explain and discuss the problem, and I've never had anything but good results from him and his staff. His prices are also unbelievably good. five-stars!

I brought in 2 cars of mine for repair on the recommendations that I read on the Mechan-x files and I must say I am delighted! One of the repairs was solve a problem that I had when cold starting a 97 Quest. The local Nissan dealer gave me a quote for $770 to swap out a air flow meter plus recommended a $280 tune up. AK auto said that he would start the trouble shooting by cleaning and lubricating the throttle body and idle air port. He did just that and only charged me $48. The minivan now starts great! Abe really knows cars and how to serve customers honestly. I most highly recommend this shop.

Abe is the best. I found him on this website and second what everyone has said. He's honest, reliable, knowledgable, and timely. Great to know when something goes wrong, there's no stress finding the right guy to fix it.

My experiences with AK Auto have been tremendous. Abe is a top-flight mechanic and a very nice guy to boot. He does great work and genuinely seems more interested in fixing your car than in getting paid. I know that sounds crazy, but I really think it's true. I feel really confident in him and recommend him to all my friends. (By the way, I found his shop right here on Car Talk.)

This place was great. I found it on this website. I took my Maxima in to get the brake pads, and rotor changed as well as a siezed caliper. Because the cv boot on the axel was missing they seemed genuinly worried about my safety and long run costs as well, so I had them replace the boot as well. I have never been so happy with a mechanic in my life. Now I know where to take my 300ZX if/when it gets problems too.

My daughter needed brake work on her 96 Nissan in her new town of Fairfax VA and I was over three hours away. She took it to a chain garage and was told she needed over $1400 in repairs. Needless to say she was upset and I did not know how to help. Then I rememebered Car Talk and the reccommended mechanic section. I punched in her zip code and up came a list with AK Auto at the top. I called and spoke with them, verified they know what they were good and honest and told my daughter about them. The good news was they quickly got her car in, fixed only what needed to be done and charged only one third of what the chain garage wanted. That was good news for a daughter after Christmas and for her father who wants her to be safe and not taken for a ride on the price.

After going through several mechanics, I found Abe Kiang to be very easy to work with. He took the time to explain to us about preventive maintenance we can do. Also, fixed several problems with our 97 Accord and charged us reasonably.
