Tracy Martin is my regular service rep. She is
knowledgeable, fair, willing to cut costs for repeat / loyal
customers, and above all, willing to admit if her shop
screws something up. I just got a new timing belt for my
2001 Jetta TDI (182,000 miles). A few days ago, one of the
engine mount nut/bolt connections failed, and the whole
engine assembly shifted forward, down and to the right.
This critically damaged the timing belt, housing, drive
belt and mounting connection. Without any prompting or
accusation, Tracy called me back and told me that they were
responsible for the failure, due to something that was done
incorrectly in the previous timing belt installation. They
repaired it for no cost, and she personally inspected and
test drove it to verify the work was done properly. I
greatly value that kind of integrity, and told her so.
This VW dealership is the exception to every other VW
dealership I've dealt with; they do good, timely work, cut
a break on the price, and interface well with the
customers. I also know that if there is an issue with my
car, I can call the shop and talk directly to Tracy, who
knows me and my car history. When it comes time to buy a
new car (probably a VW Golf TDI), I will certainly take my
business there as a reward for their service and integrity.
