Primarily they do quality repairs. Further they sell used parts, and are very helpful (almost as helpful as Tom and Ray) when you need advice about fixing things yourself.

The Audi dealer in Salt Lake City is universally acknowledged to be horrible. I've had my car there three times. The first time they claimed that there wasn't a problem (it was actually a bad bearing in the front driver side wheel). The second time the wanted to do an unnecessary repair that would have cost me $2000. And the third time, they had an accident in the shop that required body work, which they took care of, but I was without a car for a week. In contrast, I've had nothing but good experiences with the guys at Utah Imports. They are honest, extremely knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. I've typically been able to have my car in to be repaired within a day of calling them. So if you are looking for an alternative to the Audi dealer in Salt Lake City, I highly recommend Utah Imports.

Alan and Jeff have worked on both my '87 Syncro Westfalia and '96 Passat GLX VR6. Very frinedly, easy to deal with, honest, friendly and have accommodated getting me back home when I was leaving the vehicle there. I live only 2-3 miles away but they take the time to be helpful that way. Very knowledgeable, reliable and aren't the least bit hesitant to not charge if they haven't fixed the problem, but they almost always do resolve any mechanical problems I've thrown at them. Great to deal with. I strongly recommend them. Bob Stevens

i own a '83 mazda RX7. not many left can work on these things. Jeff can. he knows my primary mechanic in Boise Idaho and when he runs into something he can't deal with he is not afraid to call and ask. jeff once spent an entire weekend rebuilding my 4-barrel carb in order to save me a few bucks. they are very friendly and honest. alan is usually out front and he is very open and willing to answer questions. i recommend this shop highly. jim

I'm been bopping by Utah Imports for ten years... the result of a co-worker's recomendation. They kept my rare and hard-to-work-on VW Corrado running in fine shape and always found the parts they needed. Also my wife's VW Golf with 265,000 miles on it... they don't laugh when I bring it in. Also my Nissan Pathfinder is always ready to find a new path thanks to them. And best of all, Jeff doesn't have a boat so their rates are reasonable!

I have taken my 2001 Passat GLS 4motion to them for the last 5 years. I had suspension noises that the Firestone guys downtown could not diagnose. Turns out there was a factory error in my suspension that Alan found and fixed right away. Their oil change prices are not small, but they will always look over my car for other stuff and give me a heads-up if things are needed. Nothing major has been found.
