My old mechanic was reasonable and honest, but it took a week to get anything done, and I needed my van fixed quicker than a week. I gave Vince a try and found him to be an honest mechanic who does good work. Vince specializes in the foreign car brands, but I decided to call him anyway. I told him I had a Dodge van that has been leaking some oil here and there, but was now leaking what looked like runny oil, and there was a lot more of it. He said he may not be able to fix it, because it is a Dodge, but to bring it in, and he wouldn't charge me if he couldn't fix it. I left the van there. He called later that day to inform me that my water pump was going out and the radiator fluid was mixing with the oil and grime on the engine on its way down to the garage floor, and that is why I couldn't identify it. When I picked up the van later that day the price did not seem right. It was a few hundred lower than I expected! He confirmed that he hadn't made a mistake. I asked how that could be, as my Toyota cost me way more than that. He said the Toyota takes longer so it costs more. Vince could have told me anything and charged anything as I wasn't able to identify the fluid, and he could have charged me the Toyota price as I didn't know. He also could have told me I really need to fix the small oil leak, but he recommended I wait until it got worse as it may not get worse for years.

I have an older pickup that I want to keep on the road but I had some concerns. Vince diagonsed the problems and fixed what needed to be done and let me know what I could wait on or not bother with. I feel that I am being treated fairly and communications are timely and informative. I will continue to use Vince's services.

Vince is a trained Honda mechanic who has struck out on his own. The best thing about Vince is that you get the expertise of an experienced Honda mechanic at about 1/2 the cost of the dealer. Also, Vince is more than happy to let you watch him work (something VERY few mechanics will let you do). He also saves all of the parts he replaces so he can show you when you come pick up your car. He is honest, friendly and competent. You don't get any of the bells & whistles of a larger mechanic shop, like loaner cars or coffee in the waiting room, but you get much more in terms of value. I highly recommend him.

This 98 honda v6 coupe with 61K miles developed a stalling, not starting, flooding problem and a howl from the engine compartment. The stalling, dying, and no start have been going on for months. The factory dealer from whom I bought the car couldn't find the problem, but cleaned me and the intake manifold for $40, without my prior approval. And then charged me $10.05 for "customer pay shop charge for repair order." The howl(intermittant at first) started on a 2500 mile trip to Oregon and the dealer down there looked at the car for $37.50 to make sure I could back home again. The howl became constant and I had Vince diagnose it. He explained how almost all circuits are controlled by the alternator and showed me the lights on the dash dimming and surging and let me listen to the alternator with his stethescope, where the howl was. Then he let me watch while he replaced alternator with one with a lifetime warranty. In just over an hour, I was out of there with an again quiet car. Honda, what were you thinking when you put a Mistubishi/Delphi part on your product?

I took a gamble with the recommendion made about Vince on this web site and I'm very pleased that I did. Vince is very personable and honest. When I called to set up an appointment he quoted a price and how long it would take. Vince waited for me to arrive before he left work the evening I took my Honda in and made sure it wouldn't be left outside overnight. It was finished the next day at the time he told me and he covered every detail of what had been worked on and corrected. The price was exactly what he had quoted (plus tax). The most important thing was the quality of work and low cost. The Honda ran like new again.

I have a 1994 Toyota 4x4 with 146,000 miles that I have neglected over the past two years to the point I got turned down for an oil change. Vince replaced a seal and changed the oil for $97. The next day he replaced the radiator ($250) and changed all belts ($450). Overall, the prices seemed fair and less than a Firestone station had quoted in the past. It now seems like I will be keeping the truck for another 3-4 years or longer. I got the recommendation for his shop off of .

Vince Quang is a very talented mechanic who takes pride in his work. He likes Hondas best of all, but works on all Japanese lines. Like another reader, I took a chance on Vince after reading summaries like this one. When I took in my Accord, he quickly put my car on the lift and allowed me to accompany him as he inspected my car. He noticed cracks in 2 cv axle boots, a trans seal leak, and noisy valves. He later fixed all three issues for a very reasonable price. He later inspected my wifes car for free and pronounced it free from any mechanical problems and declined to take any money for his time. He said he'd be glad to inspect my daughters celica any time either she or I could come by with it. The peace of mind Vince instills is invaluable to me as I know that my cars are in great shape instead of wondering what is going to go wrong next. His prices are about half of what a dealership would cost and even less than any other mechanic I called about the above three issues. When you take into account the obvious pride he takes in his work, Vince is unsurpassed as a mechanic. I trust him unconditionally with my cars. You will not be disappointed in Vince and his integrity is unmatched by any other mechanic I've had a chance to work with. Thanks for reading this and good luck with your search for a great mechanic.

I found Vince on your home page under mechanics files and went one time. Was thrilled by the work he preformed, and my Nissan pickup has never run so good. He is my mech from now on!
