We have taken our cars to Erv's since about 1996: a 91 Taurus, 96 Civic and 97 Camry. They are always cheerful and cordial, ask questions about the problem, call to let us know the estimate and eta. If there are additional problems they call and let us know what to expect. They have never sold us unnecessary repairs and when they couldn't find the cause of that elusive squeak there was no charge. They have found safety problems that we were unaware of and saved us a lot of trouble and money. What we have is hard to buy: peace of mind and trust.

They did a repair for me for free one time, just because I went to them. The owner said he would make money the next time if he treated me correctly. One time they were not familiar with a repair I needed on the body and refered my to another shop where they could do it faster and cheaper. I have had them do tires, steering system work, inspections, door lock problems, power steering pump. One time they read the computer of my vehicle to find out the problem, did not charge me for it, and I did the repair at home.

An honest mechanic is more of an oxymoron more than naything, but Erv's is just that, an honest mechanic. I had work done on a 88' F150 and was quoted a price. Upon completion I noticed that much more work was done than initially discussed, but the quoted price stayed the same. When asked, I was told that I was quoted a price for repairs and that is what I was going to be charged, regardless of the other issues that came about during repair. They are always friendly and will always call before beggining any work to make sure the cusomer understands what is needed and the cost to take care of it. They will always have my business and anyone that asks, I will simply refer them to Erv's Automotive. By the way, they have towing services 24 hours for which I was not charged because they did the work on the car.

Erv's Automotive has been my parents' mechanic of choice since I can remember, and they've always been happy with Erv's. Now that my workplace is close to Erv's, I've started going to them myself. I recently had some issues I suspected needed repair, and I needed safety & emissions inspection anyway. I called their phone number, and the guy at the garage was very professional and helpful. The garage was busy at the time, so he offered some times in the very near future that I could come in if I preferred not to wait. I asked if they could transport me back to work while my car was in the shop, and he said it would be no problem at all. I took my car in the next morning. Soon after I was dropped off at work, they called me, having already checked what repairs were needed. They told me exactly what was wrong, explaining clearly without being patronizing. I was also told about the cost and time for each service. I didn't even get any pressure when I asked for a few minutes to decide. In that time, I checked with my wife (important!) and checked out the info online. Their explanations were right-on-the-spot, and their prices were in the low range given by all the online cost estimation tools I found. Not that it seemed like it, but they hadn't thrown in any extra repairs to make more money - the "symptoms" I found online exactly matched what was going on with my car. When the work was done, I was impressed with the results. They were done in the amount of time they said they'd be, and they didn't charge even a cent more than their quoted price. All the problems I was experiencing were completely fixed.
