This was actually my first time at the shop, but I felt people should now what a competent and FAIR place this is. Kenny replaced my clutch, and now my truck runs great. He showed me all the old parts and explained everything to me before he started. The estimate was right on the money and they did not try to pull anything on me. This place does no advertising, only by word of mouth, and let me tell you they have all the work they can handle. They are located on the Southside on Old Laredo Hwy, off SW military.

Lee Hillin is a brilliant mechanic! One example (there are many more!) There had been a horrible popping noise on the brake pedal of my 1994 Ford Truck; I had been virtually everywhere, including the dealer, and they all proclaimed to know nothing; all their attitudes were basically "live with it". Lee had been recommended to me, and in despiration, i took my truck by, he IMMEDIATELY knew EXACTLY what the cause of the problem was! He was the ONLY mechanic who knew what it was, and he diagnosed it right away. He let me know whether or not it was a safety hazard, did the work in a day, was reasonably priced and I have not heard a peep out of my brakes since!! I would take any automobile to Hillin's. Make sure you ask for Lee!!!

It's great. They tell you what's wrong and what it will take to fix it and when it will be ready. And best of all, they're right on all three counts.

The Hillins have worked on my cars for about 15 years and have kept me and my high milage cars safe and on the road (I have never owned anything younger than an '89). They came highly recommended to me by another woman and I have had no regrets nor have I had any reason to doubt their honesty. The Hillins have always treated me kindly and fairly, I feel more like their sister than an unrelated customer; but then I have patronized their shop enough to be adopted. When a repair includes something outside their expertise, they farm the work out to "specialists." They will stand behind the work of these specialists if something unsavory should happen. I sure wish they were opened a bit later than 5pm or on Saturdays, but then, when would they go fishing? I highly recommend the Hillins.
