These guys used to work at the #1 Lexus dealer in town. They got tired of overblown prices and went out on their own. They use all new parts, but their labor is about half of the dealer's price. If the repair is even moderately major they will provide a rental a car for the day. THey have even evaluated or fixed minor stuff for FREE (like a trunk that wouldn't close properly). They put in a starter this summer for me on the basis that "we're not sure this will fix your problem. We won't charge you until you agree that it's fixed. If it's not fixed, come back and we'll put your old starter back in and we still won't charge you." The shop started with two Davenport brothers. Now a third has joined and their Dad has come on as "errand runner." The shop is spotless. The don't even have an attitude, so the dealer must not have rubbed off on them. What a find!

I have spent a fortune at the Lexus dealer on maintenance & occasional repairs. Davenport Motors prices are fair....they are caring & competent & always treat me with respect & caring. Their positive & "whatever it takes" attitude make them "my heroes." Jimy listens with compassion as listens to my concerns with compassion & understanding & Craig & his workers fix my car with that same resolve. I am blessed that our paths crossed as I have a very old Lexus (built 10/89); and while this is a great car & has given & continues to give me great service, like me, it is old & needs help from time to time.

My experiences with these brothers has been very positive. They have always exceeded my Lexus repair expections. The only negative is that they only do repair work on Lexus autos. Good for Lexus owners bad for the other guys. Several years back they repaired the AC on my 91 Lexus. Several days later the AC went out. The brothers promptly and cheerfully replaced the compressor (defective part) at no charge and appologized for my inconvenience. They did not charge me for their extra labor or freon to replace the defective compressor. How many shops do you know these days that will do that?

We took out Lexus to them and really liked the guys. Plus, theyb did good, honest, fairly priced work. When you get good service, good value, and nice guys, what more could you want. We trdaed our Lexus 300 for an Acura RL, and these guys don't work on Acuras - darn. But, I asked them for guys like themselves that worked on Acuras. and they referred mw to some more good guys. I would say they are the best mechanics we have ever dealt with.

They always advise me of warranty issues that may arise in the near future, or advise that a problem I have is under warranty and to take it to the dealer and if they know of a specific Mech (at the dealership), they will recommend I might be more succesful if ask for that person to check it out; The car (Lexus 400 '96) stalled a couple of times in '98 when leaving the highway for a roadside-break. The problem was known to be the transmission relief valve(?) or hole was too small - The dealer offered no suggestions when I was still using them - I followed DMC advice, and it was fixed by the Dealer (under warranty) in an efficient manner!

The absolute best place to take a Lexus for repairs. The favorite subject discussed in the waiting room is how much a dealership wanted for repairs that Davenport either could do for much less or told you you did not even need the repair. A few months ago I went to a dealership for my state required annual inspection because Davenport doesn't do them. Dealership tells me they haven't done inspection but my car needs $1,200 worth of work. I immediately drove to Davenport to find out nothing on the dealership's list of items needed any repairs! Have had the same thing happen when I have made the mistake of getting my oil changed somewhere else - I am told of expensive repairs that Davenport then tells me I don't need. When I do need repairs, they do them quickly and always right the first time. They also tell me about the current condition of my car every time I go in. Information like; such and such is getting worn out so watch for this to happen and then bring it in - you don't need to fix it yet because it won't cause you to be stranded. Or they will say fix it now because it is dangerous or you could be stranded. When my sun roof would not close properly I did not want to spend a lot of money to fix it because I NEVER used it. They came up with a super low cost way to keep it closed (doesn't open at all now) that would only be acceptable to someone like me who has no use for a roof with a hole in it. I was so happy not to have to spend a lot on something I care nothing about. Another indicator of great service is how far people will drive from other areas to bring their car in for service to Davenport. They are not only very honest and skilled, they are so pleasant and nice. The waiting room is comfortable, attractive, and they provide a rental car if the work will take very long. Could not recommend them more.

I have been very pleased with Davenport. Would highly recommend them. I live within 3 miles of my Lexus "Dealer" but would rather drive 25 miles away to use Davenport !

Since discovering Davenport, I wouldn't take my old (1990) LS 400 anywhere else. They are honest and do everything they can to hold prices down. For example, my power steering was going out; they found the problem, told me that a new ps pump would cost $1500, but a rebuilt would be about $600. I told them the rebuilt. They put it in, and after about a month or 6 weeks it started leaaking. I took it back in, they apologized profusely, repaired the pump (needed a new gasket), gave me a loaner (a NEW Lexus), and charged me nothing. I'm pleased.
