I have owned my 96 corolla for all but 2 years of it's life. I do most of the maintenance myself, everything from spark plugs and brakes to oil changes and radiator flushes. So when it came time for me to allow a professional to work on it, I did my research. I talked to everyone I know that may know a good place to take it in. Auto Tech was my second choice, a friend found this shop on this website while I was standing outside of the other place that made me feel incompetent. I drove nearly 30 min. to get to Auto Tech, it was worth every moment. I met everyone who was going to come in contact with my car within minutes of being there, because they were so friendly. They explained to me how long it would take to diagnose the problem. When they called me, less than two hours later, they told me I needed a new clutch. They took the time to explain the problem and the solution with me, over the phone. At no point did I feel like I was a burden to them or that I couldn't possibly understand what they were talking about. They gave me a quote for the work and estimated the time it would take to finish. My jaw hit the floor when they gave me a LOWER price than I expected and told me they would be done by the NEXT day. I remained leery during the entire process, feeling this was almost too good to be true. I went back the next day to pick the car up form the shop, they remembered my name and spoke to me as if I had been going there for years. They went over everything with me again in person, even the fine details. I got in my car, and was completely blown away at how well it drove, better than when I bought it. It has been a month and I have had no problems with the work they did. And I am certain that if there were to be any issues that I would take the car back to Auto Tech and receive the same great service again. This shop has put to rest my fear of being treated differently at the mechanic because I am a woman.
