The best part about this garage is that it's two blocks from my house--I don't need to bum a ride from one of the mechanics in his 1972 Chevy pickup with a missing window crank on my side, the ashtray overflowing with butts, Tejano music blaring on the radio with a fuzzy speaker, and at least a six-pack's worth of empty beer cans in the floor that never seem to fall out through the hole in the floorboard that goes all the way through to the road and is big enough that I have to watch where I put my foot. The worst thing is that they're always BUSY! Sometimes it takes them a couple of days just to get to my car.

Go there often enough and they might give you a couple of tools to take home for your trouble. (But you might not find 'em for a couple of months till they fall out of the engine compartment onto your garage floor.)

I have taken my car to René for the past sixteen years. He
has kept my 94 Quest running like new and kept me out of
the poor house maintaining my daughter's cars. Before René
ran the shop, he worked for his uncle. I took him my 76
Volaré wagon with an electrical problem I couldn't fix. He
spent about 6 hours in the hot El Paso sun working on it
and charged me $35.00. He said he was embarrassed that he
didn't find it sooner and said that is what the repair
should have cost. He's a great guy and so are his crew,
brother EDdie and mechanic Gustavo.

Rene has worked on at least four vehicles of ours in the
last 16 years--everything from fluid leaks, to flat tires
to a transmission overhaul. He does a great job and
explains things well. Now that her new car warranty ran
out, my wife takes her car and has him do all the scheduled
maintennce for about half the price the dealership charges.
