Always honest and friendly. Reasonable prices. I've never felt as though they are trying to take advantage of me due to the fact that I know very little about cars. Just very, very honest. Our whole family uses them and have always had great experiences.

I want to give a plug for Randy and the team at Love Field Auto. They looked after my 2000 Mazda Protege for the past few years, and were very reasonable and honest in their dealings. When I had a radiator problem they quoted me for used as well as new parts and saved me some cash, and when the check engine light came on several times they reset it because they told me it was likely a fleck of dirt clogging something and setting off the air quality sensor, they could have easily told me different and shoved parts into it. Finally my beloved Protege was rear-ended by a drunken local and totaled by the insurance company. In my search for a new vehicle I brought several cars to Randy and he checked them out free of charge. Most especially, he found a leaking power steering rack on an independent dealer's car that his own mechanic didn't see, but was confirmed by the franchise dealership and fixed under warranty, that saved me $750! The immediate area around the shop is a little sketchy, but it is very close to University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and they will drop you at work while they look at your car. It is just one block from Maple Avenue or cedar Springs Road where you can catch a bus, and they have a deal with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. At time of this comment (April 2009) Denton Drive has construction because they are building a new commuter railway line, but soon it will be really easy to get to.

The people at Love Field Auto are fantastic. As a woman relatively new to the area, I was really worried about finding a mechanic when my car had a problem. However, when I took my car here, Randy (the owner) took time to explain what the problem was and even suggested I check with the dealer to see if they would fix my car for less (even though that would mean losing my business)- turns out LFA charged less anyway. I've taken my car back several times since, and have always been happy with the service: friendly, quick, fair prices, they offer rides to work/home as needed, and won't fix something if it doesn't need to be fixed.

I took my car to Love Field Auto for A/C work after seeing the other recommendations here. I had already taken my car to a number of other shops, multiple times, and spent over $400 without success. On my first visit, I was told there was a leak. A couple weeks later, I was having the same A/C problems. Love Field Auto ultimately told me I needed a new compressor, but gave me a quote for half as much as a competitor. Further, they deducted the cost of the earlier (unsuccessful) repairs. They provided a ride to work and picked me up when they were done. I love this shop, but wish they had weekend hours. I now work farther away, which makes it difficult and/or impossible for me to choose them for future work.
