I took my wife's car in to have the A/C serviced. I was in no hurry to get it back since my wife was out of town. They gave me a ride home. After they recharged it they kept it for a few days to make sure it held the charge. The A/C in my truck went out so I swapped my truck for her car. They didn't charge me for the work they'd done. They just told me if it didn't hold to recharge to let them know. By the time my truck was done (they had to replace all the A/C components and gave me a good price) the refrigerant in my wife's car had leaked out so I swapped cars again (and paid for the work done on my truck). When they finished my wife's car (had to replace all the A/C components there also, and gave me another good price) I paid them, picked up the keys and left my car there. I picked my wife up at the airport the next day and had her drive it home. Just out of curiosity I called a couple of places to 'get an estimate' on the work Nelson's had done. They said they would have to charge approx $1000. Nelson's only charged me $750.00 for each vehicle. Both of my vehicles are Chevy's with 4.3L engines ('98 S10 Blazer and '94 C1500 pickup). Another time the intermittent windshield wiper controls went out on both my vehicles at about the same time. The auto parts stores would sell me the circuit card to fix my truck but they wouldn't sell me the circuit card to fix my Blazer, I had to buy the entire motor at a much higher price. When I had problems removing the old motor (and cracking my windshield in the process) I turned to Nelson's. He said the circuit board for my pickup was the same circuit board as for the Blazer, and he had a new spare that he'd sell me for cost, which was cheaper than the one I had purchased at the auto parts store for my pickup. I had him install it. Nelson's knows that I'd prefer to do my own auto repair work whenever possible and he doesn't worry about giving me free troubleshooting advise. He probably knows that, if the task is beyond my capabilities, I'll take it to him, and he's right. He's the kind of mechanic that everyone is looking for.

I have used Nelson Truck and Auto for the past 9 years. They have fixed all of my clunkers honestly. I trust their work completely and would recommend them to anyone needing a reliable mechanic. They are not open the extended hours that a superstore might be, but their work is worth it to me.
