The experience that makes these guys stand out, is when my car dies on ben white @ 5:00p.m. on a Friday, 30 minutes after I had picked it up from their shop. The part of town was scary and it was getting dark. Mike stayed on the phone with me for the 45 minutes that it took for the towtruck to arrive. During this 45 minutes he would switch to another line and try to find a mechanic in south austin that was honest and would be open, as well as trying to diagnose the problem so that if he could/I could find a place to work on it, I would be able to say with confidence what the problem wasn't.

They had my car for 2 days, for they are a busy shop. THe
staff was very nice, and as a female that is important to
me, but I did feel bad that I had to pay $180 for a
diagnostic check and the ECU part needed was not researched
ecough to find it and fix it!
I will return to them again when I have transmission
problems. Clean and safe working environment.

Well, I thought I had lost a clutch. My 3000gt would not
shift and there was fluid everywhere, and there was that
unmistakable smell of a burnt clutch. I was bracing myself
for a $1000 clutch job. Ike's fixed the leak in my clutch
master-cylinder for $67. Seriously, I would have paid
anything under a $100. They earned a lifelong customer and
I will continue recommending them.

Ikes Transmissions has been around for a long time, I htink since the late 1970's. a freind of mine had recommended Ikes tome about 6 yeras ago for transmission problems I was having in my Suburban. It always seems like you get a different answer from everyone on these types of problems and I wanted someone I could rely and trust to fix the transmission.
Well, going to Ikes was one of the best things I oculd of ever done. Ike personally met with me back then and described the problem, what had to be done to fix it in a no fluff way. I knew then, I had found a mechanic I could trust.
Ever since then, Ike has always taken his time to talk with me when I owuld bring in one of the family vehicles. Ikes Transmissions is an Austin landmark in my eyes.
