chuck winkler, owner, has earned his living working on cars since he was 15 (over 45 years) and in addition is a very smart man. Very up to date. Completely honest (women take note) and the hardest working person I know. He kept my 1976 Ford Pinto running well for 15 years and now does the same for my Mazda. He can answer the questions on the radio program as well as the brothers.

I own a 1991 GMC Jimmy with 257,000 miles. Chuck has been able to keep it running smoothly. He told me that if I can get that many miles on a GMC product I should get a million miles on a Toyota.

Murfreesbro Imports has worked on two Hondas we have had, as well as two Mazdas. It is a small, privatlely owned, clean shop. They have always been very honest with us - once a clip broke that connects the drive shaft and the axle. All we knew is that the car wouldn't go! They could have told us just about anything and made several hundred dollars. Instead they charged us less than $10 for the part and labor. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

We live 230 miles away from Murfreesboro, but have a daughter in college there. We talked via phone with the shop and they were very nice to us, our daughter, and most importantly repaired her car quickly and competently.

These guys saved our family vacation. Chuck and Rick at Murfreesboro Import got to work on my vehicle because the engine blew as I was driving from Pennsylvania to Florida. It was a Sunday evening, we were on our way to Tennessee to visit some of my wife's relatives. We noticed the engine had started making some very bad noises and were still about 100 miles away from the house where we were staying. Our vehicle was towed to Mefreesboro Import Service at the recommendation of my wife's relatives. Chuck looked at our vehicle the following morning and gave us the bad news. The engine had been badly damaged and was going to need replaced, an unexpected major repair bill just as we were beginning our vacation. Chuck initially said it would be about a week to get the new engine ordered, in, and replace the old one. Chuck understood we were from out of town, on vacation, and short on money. He got the engine 2 days ahead of schedule and pulled one his guys aside from their scheduled workload just to work on our van. He had our van back to us 4 days earlier than what he originally told us and under his estimate. My wife and I were thrilled. We got back on our way after a short extension of our visit in Tennessee. I can't say enough about the crew at Murfreesboro Import. I've been going to the same garage back home for 20 years and thought I had found the best one ever. These guys were great. Highly recommend them if you're shopping for an honest, dependable garage.

The owner of this garage, Chuck Winkler, has told me the truth on several occasions when lying could have made him hundreds of dollars richer. He has even coached me on how to do some basic repairs myself. He also inspected - free of charge - each of three used cars I recently considered buying. He found major engine and suspension problems with the first (boy, was the dealer ever surprised), evidence of a papered-over rear-end collision on the second (an incident that hadn't shown up on the Carfax report), and gave my third candidate a clean bill of health. He's partial to imports, particularly Honda and Toyota, but I've seen domestic models in his garage, too. A neighbor recommended him to me to him back when I first moved here. I've recommended him to several friends and neighbors since, and I've never heard a complaint from any of them.

I recently moved to Chicago but still make an annual visit to M'boro to have my car serviced by M'boro Imports. Quite simply, it is the fastest, friendliest, and most reasonably- priced shop I've ever encountered. I can always count on excellent service and advice, and I almost feel like family the way I (and my car!) am treated! I HIGHLY recommend M'boro Imports.
