Johnny is just great. I don't know if he treats male and female customers the same, but he treats me (female) with respect and gives me credit for being an intelligent human being, even though I am not an expert mechanic. He also will let me know when he feels the issues of my VW are beyond his mastery (his expertise is American cars) and often recommends other shops that can do the job better and/or cheaper than his.

Johnny is absolution the best mechanic I have ever used. A
friend referred me to him and I wouldn't take my vehicle
anywhere else in Newport or the surrounding area. I refer
him to everyone I know. He is honest and his prices can't
be beat. Whether it is brake work, rebuilding my Jeep
Grand Cherokee power steering box or just 20k maintenance,
he bends over backward to quickly find a solution to any
problem, at the best possible price. Even when this
requires Johnny to do some serious rebuilding, he will not
hesitate to do it quick and cheap. He is 100% devoted to
his customers. The last time he did any major work on my
vehicle, they ended up putting a belt on that was too large
and slipped. I stopped in to the shop on a Friday evening
about 6pm to see if I could get the car back in the
following week. Johnny dropped everything and came out in
the dark 15-degree weather to immediately rectify the
situation at no charge and he actually let me help with the
repair. Another interesting note - the first time I took
my car to him (right before Christmas), I walked into the
shop and saw about 15 cases of beer stacked up in the small
front office. While I was there, three more customers
showed up to drop of cases of beer. This is the single
biggest reason that I would recommend Johnny's Getty. If
his customers go out of their way to turn his shop into a
beer distributor for Johnny and his crew - I just have to
believe that the guy does great work at a reasonable
price.

Johnny and Jimmy have kept our cars on the road virtually
to end of life when others wouldn't have bothered. Second
car reliability has been excellent. Service is always
friendly and with a smile. They are most accomodating.

Jonhhy's is primarily a gas station but the cars neatly
parked in his side lot, the two repair bays that are
usually busy and the people that come back for repeat
business prove he is a trusted mech too.
Johnny has worked on a couple of our cars. He is just as
happy doing a brake job as a tire repair, no job too little
for their full attention. He is very responsive if you let
him know getting back on the road is important.
He is an old school former racer and has shop full of
trophies and great pictures. He has turned down a lot of
offers to buy the Dale Earnhart front cover from to his
Coke machine.
A great , small independent and dependable shop.

Nice People and Honest!!!!!
Brought my car in, assuming it needed brakes -
Didn't get brakes, because the brakes were fine -
Honest mechanics are not a dime a dozen -
I'm so glad I discovered this place!
