Joe knows his M-B inside and out. Good for advice on used car purchases too. Joe has offered to drive my M-B to my house after a repair (I live an hour from his shop). He has also been available for telephone consultations when I've had problems getting the car started (and he's been right in his diagnoses all the time!) For example, we were away for a week on vacation and my '87 300 SDL diesel would'nt start when we returned home. The fuel filters were new, fuel pump worked fine, plenty of fuel flow from the tank, glow plugs working, but no fuel in either the injection pump, or injectors. I called Joe that morning and he said look for a wet spot on the injector return lines. He said you have to feel underneath with your fingers. Sure enough the no.6 cylinder return line was wet. He said fuel was bleeding back from the leak. I fixed the leak, primed the system and the problem was cured!
