When Susan starts her car in the morning, and heads down her driveway, she hears what sounds like a jet engine roar. The noise seems to go away. Ray happened to be reading a motor magazine that noted this problem in Explorers. It’s a faulty fan clutch, turning at full speed when it shouldn’t. Susan can live with the noise or spend $200 to replace the fan clutch.
