Shanta
Ness
Ann Arbor
Michigan
Shanta's engine idles low and she has to keep her foot on the gas to keep it from stalling. Can she adjust idle herself? Tom and Ray say it's not too difficult to adjust, but she'd run the risk of setting it too high. Also, the problem is sporadic which indicates it’s not the idle speed but the carburetor causing the problem--a low float level is causing minor engine flooding. She may need a new/rebuilt carburetor.
