Lowell and his wife were taught that on really cold mornings, they should turn off all their car’s electrical accessories prior to starting to not rob the battery of charge needed to start the car. Their daughter’s mechanic friends claim that it’s better to warm up the battery gently by turning on an accessory prior to starting the car. Who’s right? Neither one--both are old wives tales, and it doesn’t matter. The car shuts off all electric stuff itself when you turn to the crank position.
