Steve’s wife lost her brakes driving home one day. The pedal sank to the floor, and she managed to coast to a stop and was towed to their mechanic. The next day, the mechanic said the brakes were fine. A friend said her husband, also a mechanic, had seen this happen on other cars that were towed backwards, but couldn’t explain why. Tom and Ray think the emergency brake was stuck on, which meant the brakes were always on, the fluid boiled and they glazed, causing the pedal to sink. The reverse tow un-stuck the E-brake.
