I don't know much about cars, so I am always nervous about getting my car serviced. I have often had that nagging feeling that I was being screwed ... but not with Wayne. Wayne has a straigtforward way of talking to you about what the problem is that cuts through the bull. He is very down-to-earth. As the other reviewer noted, he won't hesitate to grumble if you didn't listen to him about something and then come back to him about it. He's kind of like a dad. He'll give you his opinion and then let you decide what you want to do. He's not pushy. He does thorough, quality work. He wants to fix the problem as much as you do. There was one time we took our Subaru to him and had a problem with it after he worked on it. He remedied the problem at his own cost and was extremely nice about it. We have been taking our cars to him for a few years. Please note, if you've been to him before, he moved down the street recently.

Wayne is very good at diagnostics - and is very proud of the computer tie-in to diagrams and part identification that he subscribes to on-line even though it is expensive for a small shop. Wayne has contempt for cutomers who have ignored his warnings that they need to have the "such & such" maintained or repaired - and then the cutomer brings the car in and wants a miracle performed after the part has failed (usually taking with it one or two parts in close proximity).

Recently had a very good experience with Wayne. He researched a problem I had with my car, talked to me about it in detail, and offered some advice about symptoms I might see further down the road due to other issues. I know a little about cars, so it was great to have somebody actually discussing things with me rather than some guy just calling up and saying -yeah, you're thingamjig is messed up and that'll be $500 to fix it- The work was completed as discussed and on time, and I would definitely go back. It feels good to have found a reliable mechanic in the area.

Not cheap, but always realize one is paying for experience, knowledge, and integrity when dealing with Wayne. He specializes in VW, but is comfortable with many other imports as well.
