Don't be put off by the "hole-in-the'wall" appearance of the place. The location is good (Rising Sun Ave and Hellerman) and Don and his crew do first-class work. Things get fixed the first time and the price is always as good or better than you will find any place else. And he will take as much time with you as you need to help you understand your problems. No one has ever heard of him cheating a customer or not standing behing his work. He hires good people and he keeps them by treating them well, if not paying them as much as they could get elsewhere. And Don has the memory of an elephant: I call him to bring my car in once or twice a year for minor work or an annual inspection. Even before I identify myself he will start telling me about the times that I used to bring in my Renault Alliance. Don fondly remembers me because I paid for a boat or something. Then he waxes nostalgic, saying that he misses my visits since I bought the Honda. I don't think he knows my name, even now. But he knows everything about cars, and that is what mechanics are for. As long as he is in business, I'll drive the ten miles to his garage.
