I took my car to a "chain" automotive shop for an inspection and was told I needed a catalytic converter but everything else was fine with the car, I knew that they were loading me up with crap because my car would shimmy/shake around 50 MPH. I decided I didn't want them to molest my car and took it to Gary's Automotive. They did find the problems I knew about and were honest in their dealings with me including replacing a bad tire with a used tire for $20 (imagine not charging me for a new tire instead!) After I had paid and was getting ready to leave, Gary, the owner, talked to me for about 15 minutes after they closed explaining how his shop works and how they take care of the cars that come in. From what I could tell, he seems like a very honest and ethical person. I personally would recommend giving him a try as I have been completely satisfied with their work.

Recently my faithful (14 year old) car stranded me. I called Gary and not only did he come tow me, but he dropped me off at my house before he took the car to the shop. After it was fixed he tipped me off to call my insurance company and see if I could be reimbursed for the towing. I would have never thought of it. Furthermore, he had locked me in as a regular customer by assuring me that as long as I take basic, reasonable care of my car, I could double my 135K+ miles and keep it forever. If anybody can do it, Gary can!
