This garage specializes in Saab and Volvo. We're on our second Volvo, both of which have been serviced at Swedish Motors. It's about 12 miles from Lancaster, so not that convenient. But when we had repeated problems (the car kept dying inexplicably and wouldn't restart) with our first Volvo, an 89 240DL wagon, the Volvo dealer in Lancaster was unable to fix it satisfactorily. We took it to another shop, which succeeded in pinching the fuel line. Finally we took it to Rich, who owns Swedish Motors, and he finally found the problem--a cracked distributor. We've used him ever since, trust him completely, find his mechanics know their stuff, bought our second Volvo from him (a used 94 850 turbo), and couldn't be happier. Except for the time I swerved to miss an Amish buggy and ended up in a cow pasture, but that's another story.

This was the perfect shop for us. They service all three of
the makes our family owned (Volvo, Saab, VW). They got the
job done right the first time and provide service loaners
when they have to keep your vehicle. They spoiled us. Now
we live in an area with very limited options for all three
makes. Unfortunately, driving 750 miles for repairs is not
an option.

- MiniMouse
I don't know what the hourly labor cost was, but the total cost was reasonable. Mice had nibbled on my MINI for the third time, and I was so glad to find that Swedish Motors could work on my car. The one drawback to having a MINI was the need to return to the dealer to have anything done. I have already recommended Swedish Motors to other MINI owners and will take my car there for all future service.
