We took my wife's 93 Suburban to Cook's for inspection and
to find out what that "grinding" sound was. We dropped it
off in the middle of a snow storm too.
The next day, David (owner) called to let us know that the
grinding was coming from the rear brakes and it would cost
about $175 to fix that, and complete the inspection. It
was finished later that same day.
When I went to pick it up, he informed me that the exhaust
pipe was a little loose where it was clamped, and that he
had not seen that before giving us the estimate. He tack
welded it, and tightened the clamp. He also showed me the
broken piece from the brakes and that the pads were pretty
low as well.
He also came in under estimate at about $140, even with the
extra exhaust work.
I listed myself as a biased customer, because he was
recommended to me by two of my friends.
