Mel and Lloyd Witmer are throwbacks to a dying breed of mechanics. THEY FIX THINGS! These guys will go to extremes to fix an automotive problem. There are lots of garages and mechanics around that replace parts - these guys try their best to repair your vehicle. If a new part is needed, of course, they will replace the part. I have been a customer for the past 20+ years and I can think of countless times that I have driven and sometimes towed cars to their garage for service. Having gone through the stage of life when I had three teen-age drivers in the family at the same time, I was a regular visitor to Witmer Brothers garage. They were always patient, listened to my tales of woe, offered advice when asked, and sympathetic to years of teen-aged drivers. I have found them to be honest, competent and accommodating. There garage sort of follows the proverbial tale of finding a good diner - if the parking lot is always full, it must be a good place to eat! They probably won't appreciate the fact that I have identified their garage as one of Lancaster County's best, because they are always very busy and their parking lot is always full of cars waiting to be repaired.
