The classic, BUT HONEST, independent repair shop. 4 bays, several mechanics, full range of service including towing & a flatbed, but not body work. Only open weekdays 7am - 6pm. Closed Saturday and most especially Sundays. This is Lancaster County, PA. These people are serious Christians (Mennonites; they even sometimes play Christian radio in the shop, but, thankfully, have never proselytized this heathen.) and that is reflected in how they do business. Thus, they are unfailingly helpful, honest, fair (but not cheap), and genuinely competent.

The Christian thing is a little weird, but they seem to do good enough work. Said I needed wiper blades for a state inspection when I'm not so sure that I did. Other than that, OK in my book.

Despite the fact that Elvin is a die-hard Steelers fan (hey, nobody's perfect (Go Eagles!)), the work standard that the shop provides is the most ethical I've found. I am very pleased with the quality and thoroughness of the service I receive there and have never been disappointed (until I see my bill). Yeah, they cost a bit more than the average bear, but you truly get what you pay for. They are a safe bet.

Took my Explorer to these guys prior to an Xmas trip to visit relatives in Missouri. They claimed Explorer needed $700 worth of differential work that would only "prolong" the life of the vehicle--despite inspecting this vehicle three times (and 6 months earlier) and never mentioning that the differential might need some attention. Got better service from Valvoline oil-change people than these guys. I won't be going back for an inspection on anything else from these shysters.
