Mr. Mullens always looks out for his customer. One time we were having a problem with my VW New Beetle. He checked it out, did some research, and advised us it was under a recall for that. He advised us to take it to the dealer and have them do it for free. We didn't know about the recall and he could easily have done it and charged us, but he didn't. That alone would have earned my loyalty. He also is good at telling you when it's time to give up on a car. We had a Suzuki Swift that was having some problems and he suggested it was time to move on. He could have told us to keep it and we would have gone back for repairs. But instead we got a new car with a warranty, so he only saw us for routine maintenance. This shop is the best.

We have taken our cars to Mullen's for years. Over the last three years or so, we noticed that if we had the car in the shop for one thing, they always managed to find something more that had to be repaired. We dropped our cars off early in the morning or the night before, but they were never, ever done until last thing in the day, and sometimes not until the next day, even though the shop knew what work needed to be done. The capper was when my husband put his Volvo in for work. They said they couldn't get the part and had to keep it an extra day. He pointed out that they knew they were going to need the part and also that he had to have the car back timely because of a planned trip. They claimed they had called *everywhere* but couldn't find the part and kept the car a third day. Spouse called the local Volvo dealer and parts manager told him they had never been called for the part, which they had in stock. He wound up having to rent a car to make his planned trip. The only accommodation Mullen's offered us was to reduce the amount of the repair to what it would have been if it had been done by the dealer (!). We will never take our cars there again. Shysters.
