My girlfriend has been having her 98 Firebird worked on by Tim and his crew for several years now, and they are wonderful. Tim will give you a ride home if you have to leave your car, or will deliver the car to you, or have one of the guys in the shop do so. And that is not a small issue, as we live 30 minutes from the shop in rural Oregon. And to top it all off, we had her car in the shop a month ago, and were discussing the fact that I'd replaced the ball joints on my Audi Coupe Quattro, and needed to get it up for an alignment, as I had simply set the joints to maximum negative camber in the absence of a gauge. He loaned me his manual camber gauge so I could set basic numbers, with the only caveat being I kept it safe. I think finding a good mechanic is as, if not more, important as finding a good doctor, dentist, and hairstylist/barber. (By the way, also got a great recommendation for a hairstylist/barber from Tim's wife.) If you live in or near the Gold Beach, Oregon, area, or are driving through and need a mechanic, look no further than Tim at Precision Performance. And, by the way, they also sell tires!

As an automotively-challenged female I am always wary of dealing with auto mechanics. Okay... so I DO know there is no such thing as a "framostat".... and I am capable of reading the manual (no... not that complicated mechanic's version) and fixing minor things. However, for anything else I know I either need a mechanically inclined boyfriend/girlfriend or a mechanic. I also know that the objective for most auto shops is to have income, and the more the better. Tim Harding who owns Precision Performance I consider to be an intuitive honest master auto mechanic. I believe this is a rare breed in or outside their natural habitat. No matter who I interact with at Precision Performance, I know that I will be treated fairly and problems/proposed solutions will be explained at a level I can understand to make an informed decision. I have called and received information over the phone, whereas most shops require you to come in for even the most minor problem.
