Have taken 3 cars to McCready's over past 10 years. Usually the least expensive. NEVER had a complaint with their service, prices. I have come to trust their opinion about what should be done. With some of my daughters' cars, they've to me not to bother with a particular repair because of the cost. They don't do any up-selling either. I have refered friends there and to my knowledge all are satisified. Good people.

After realizing how less expensive this place was than anywhere else, and how much better they do the work, I would call other places for my own entertainment and give them the quote from McCready's and listen for their reaction. Competence doesn't even begin to explain the skill with which they do their repairs. Believe me, there is not a better place on God's green earth to take your car. Don't believe me? Just give them a call after getting a quote from somewhere else and see for yourself.

While I had my tires rotated at a tire company's garage under the warranty that came with the tires, they told me I needed to replace a loose tirod at a cost of about $260. I took my car to McCready's for a second opinion. They put the car on a lift, checked the tirod and told me not to bother with it yet, it doesn't need replacing, and they didn't charge me a cent! If and when I need my tirod replaced, you can bet it will be done by McCready's and not the tire company's garage!

I have a 1999 Kia Sportage and most shops just frown when we appear with "her" but at Macready's she is well treated and they have now become our shop of choice - Found them right her on Car Talk site and we are mighty glad that we did !! Thanks Click and Clack and Jeff (Macready)

Harold (Dad) and Jeff (Son) McCready are honest and reliable people. I need to drive more than 20 minutes to take my cars for service at their shop. This let's you know how good these guys are. Have been working with these guys for three years on five different vehicles. They spend the time to go over (either on the phone or in person) what needs done to the car and the cost. I swear by them and would recommend them to anyone near Akron. In fact I have recommended them to several people that are more than satisfied with them.

These guys, Harold and Jeffrey, are SO honest that it's almost unbelievable! Really. In fact, they even once sent me to another place to get a muffler replaced--because it could be done there cheaper. (You see, the other place was actually a Toyota dealership which was running a manufacturer's special at a price nobody could have beaten.) Then, if that alone weren't decent enough, when this same Toyota muffer had to be replaced just 2-3 years later, the Toyota dealership balked, saying that I didn't have proof of the lifetime warranty. When I informed the McCreadys of this, Jeffrey went far and above the call of duty. He actually called the dealership and strongly advocated on my behalf. Jeffrey told the Toyota service manager how he remembered quite clearly when and under what circumstances I'd originally gotten the muffler from the dealership. Within a matter of minutes, I had an appt for a free muffler replacement at the dealership. Harold also once told me that he couldn't send me home in a car that wasn't running safely, because if I ever got stranded somewhere and anything happened to me, he couldn't live with himself. I've been going to these guys for almost 20 years now. You simply couldn't pay me to go elsewhere.

My dealer told me that I needed more then $500 in repair work for my 40,000 mile tune-up. I took my car to McCready's for a second opinion, and they only charged me $50.00 for a new fuel filter. Most importantly, they did not treat me like a girl or try to push any extra repair work. They were friendly, professional, courteous, and clearly explained the reasons for the work they were performing. I'll never take my car anywhere else!

This is a great shop. The service is honest and the prices are fair. They will not fix something and does not need to be fixed. They also will give you a ride. You can't get much better than this.

I have taken probably 6 or 7 different vehicles and makes to them over the years (20+). The first time I took my Ford Aerostar van to them, they found a loose clamp, tightened and charged me nothing...I've been going back ever since...
