Shop is owned and run by three sisters, daughters of Bernie
who started the garage many years ago. They are
knowledgeable, fair, and NEVER talked patronizingly to women.
Excellent service, mechanics are thorough and fair. They
also tell you when you DON'T need something done.
The body work they did on my car ('97 Miata) after an
accident was complimented by another mechanic from another
shop.

Bernie's is the best. Their prices are far better than
other places in the area and they only do what is
absolutely necessary to repair your car. They understand
that people don't have unlimited funds to put into their
vehicles. I love the fact that it is run by women.

I found Bernie's Garage through the Car Talk website around
1998. They have been working on my cars since, and I have
been nothing but very happy with them. I have told all my
friends about them, and they are all happy, too. Prices are
reasonable, and they very contentious about diagnosing the
problem and giving you options (when options are
available.) I never feel like I am being ripped off, and I
never feel like they are pushing repairs that are not
necessary. For my vehicles, they have done everything from
brake work to replacing a head gasket. I have a 1990 pick-
up (with over 175,000) and 2002 Mazda, both are great in
shape.
I am sure most people can relate to the regular occurrence
at the tire shop after having your tires rotated, when
inevitably they come back to you with items that they want
to "fix". Before, I always felt helpless. Do I believe
them, or not? Now, I always say with confidence, Thank you
for letting me know, I will have my mechanic look at it.
It's a great feeling.

They're a small shop that gives personal attention; you talk with the mechanic if you want to. They always seem strictly honest and offer good advice. I've been using them for about 30 years and recommend them to others.
