This is a family-run business. These guys like fixing cars, they're smart, and they're pleased as punch to be making money from it. The thing that brings me back to them every time is this: if you ask them, "Do I need to repair my framistan?" they will not hesitate to say, "Nope! Your dealer is nuts!" or "You could drive it another 5,000 miles if you want." And sometimes they'll tell you that you *should* go to the dealer. I think many of their customers are long-term because you know you're gonna be treated right by these guys. Like many good mechanics, they won't try to be your best friend, but they just do good, honest work.

I have been using these guys since 1978 when I was a starving english major driving a dog (Aspen). I've been with them as they moved to three locations and they've been with me through a succession of dodge, chrysler, toyota and honda vehicles. I still use them even though their garage is about 40 miles from where I live. They are excelelent diagnosticians, fair in their estimates and repair work and willing to admit it when they've made a mistake. They treat their customers and employees with respect. They are also experts with foreign cars, and are specially trained in mazda mechanics (e.g. rotary engines). Finally, they are the kinds of "neighborhood folk" who are good citizens. I am a biased customer because over the years I have come to know Jim, Eli and Bill as friends and am as careful about referring people to them as in referring them to other people. They deserve good customers who will appreciate excellent mechanics.

They are always fair and extremely honest. Once, I was told I needed to get head gaskets replaced, and they suggested I take my Subaru to the dealership and see if I could get a deal on that repair since at one time there was a extended Subaru issued warranty to cover known problem with head gaskets. While I did not get the repair for free, I was able to get 1/2 off after dealership talked to national Subaru. Sahlani Bro's look out for their customers!
