Have repaired problem at a more reasonable price than dealer. Have used this shop on other cars a few times in years past. Son highly recommended it to me.

Found Marathon on this website when we recently moved to
Beavercreek. They are very honest and dependable.

Carl is the man I trust to work on my cars - We've had six cars that he eventually knew like "family" and managed to keep them running until they eventually hit 200K miles and the kids refused to ride in their rusted out hulks - but the engine, trans, and brakes always worked. Carl kept them alive long after the salt and rust condemned them to the here-after!

If you live in the area this is THE place to go. Carl Purvis has been in this location for as long as I can remember and has never lacked customers due to the fact that this is an honest shop that treats customers like we want to be treated. They aren't trying to get rich off of each job, they simply fix what's wrong and don't get greedy in the process. I have been taking my cars and trucks to this shop since I got a license and even though we now live a good bit further away I still won't go anywhere else. You can trust these guys and that is a rare commodity. Another rare treat is you always see the same faces when you go in, year after year. Guys go to work there and never seem to leave. I think that says a lot about Carl Purvis.

it was great, the honda dealership wanted $960 to fix the break lines. Carl's shop had me on my way for $111. thanks Carl

This family owned auto repair business is the best I have ever dealt with, they are honest, reasonable, and most of all talented! I had a car for sale and a lady interested in asked to have them evaluate it, for ~$30 they did a though job. I was impressed at the time they spent. When my son needed work done on his truck again they did a great job the truck was ready early. I trust them implicitly! Eric

Carl and Gary are both super. They do a good diagnosis and
will discuss alternate actions with me that make economic
sense for the situation. They never push repairs so they can
make boat payments. For over twenty years they have kept
me, my wife, and four kids on the road in three Plymouths,
two Fords, four Chryslers, a Dodge, a Jeep, an AMC, two
Olds, two Toyotas, one Nissan. I bought all of them used,
and half were driven in excess of 200,000 miles. We drive
them until they are used up. These guys are absolutely
trustworthy. They will not take on jobs they don't have
confidence in. Many years ago I was having trouble with the
especially complicated carburetor on one of my Fords. Carl's
advice was to take it to another shop, "Bob's Automotive",
who is now retired. Carl's comments- "If I take this on, you
are going to pay me to learn on your carburetor." When one
of the Toyotas had 150,000 on the clock and was
intermittently making a terrible clashing noise while
starting because the ring gear was getting worn, I couldn't
talk Carl into doing what would be an $700 + replacement.
His advice- "Drive it until it doesn't start at all any
more. There's a good chance it may last as long as the rest
of the car. " It did.
I make appointments, drop the cars off in the evening (they
are open till 9 pm) and write down a clear description of
the problem. Carl or Gary will call me at work the next
morning with a diganosis and offer up alternatives. The work
is done right, and prices are fair. I am away 12 hours a day
as I work 50 miles away so I don't have time to waste.
They are everything that service departments in auto
dealerships aren't. I could go on for hours and dread the
day Carl retires. If only our doctors were close to this
good at what they do.

I'm a second generation client of Carl's (and Craig's). My
family has been going there since we moved here 30+ years
ago. I have never had any type of issue with Beavercreek
Service (name has been changed, no longer a Marathon store).
Once, I was due to start a new job the next day, and the car
went "kaploo-ee," It was after 4:00, Carl stayed late
himself to a) find the part, and b) fix the car.
Honestly, I would trust any car to Carl & Co. and never
hesitate to recomend him to anyone.

These guys have worked on our cars since we moved here 3
years ago. They've always done a great job and are very
honest and reasonable.
