Art and Ken at A&K have been servicing my 1994 Nissan Altima for the last two years. They have been honest, resonsibly priced, and very knowledgeable about my car. My general experience is that I bring the car to them in the morning. Talk with Art about the problem (sometimes he will take a short ride with me if I need to show him a problem). Art will usually give me his opinion about what the problem might be and what he will check. A few hours later, I get a call from Ken who explains the problem and gives me an estimate (parts & labor) for the repair work. If I approve, the car is generally ready for me to pick up in the evening. They have always offered to show me or give me the replaced parts. They have performed maintenance and repairs on my car including brakes, transmission service, alternator replacment, isolation and repair of loose ground wire, air conditioner repair. When the alternator that they replaced failed after 6 months, they found the reoord and replaced for free with a newly re-built unit. No hassles or questions. I highly recommend these guys especially if you have a Japanese car (Nissan, Honda, Toyota)... As a long time Car Talk listener, I felt the need to recommend these guys to other listeners in the NYC area looking for a good, honest mechanic. MEC 2008.12.19
