Way-elll..... The proprietors, Larry and Ed(they don't have last names either)--Herzog and Fetzer(but you didn't hear that from me)--are a great pair of guys who started this biz on a shoestring and built it up to what it is today--serving the greater Kingston, NY area by using those old-fashioned values of honesty, value, courtesy, communication, and (oh yeah) hard work. You know that these guys are honest because their biggest issue in their business lives is the Town Police undercutting their towing business by having their own such service for area disabled vehicles. My first contact with Stage One was when my vehicle had an alternator problem, Larry came to where it was personally to assess the situation. Over the years he has towed my dead jalopes more times than I can recount--the last time being when I drove my Honda Civic into oncoming traffic(which was blocked by the oncoming right lane being backed up, and yeah, the guy stopped in that lane waved me on, and silly me, I took the bait). Their repair shop offers a free(well ok--no extra chahhhhhhge)transportation service while the vehicle is being repaired. Besides that, when I opened my big mouth one day while the state inspector was in their shop by saying, "You still overlook the minor stuff in inspections right?" I didn't even get a cross word from Larry--only a prudent warning, which I quickly and successfully diffused by falling back on that old saw, "Loose lips sink ships." (I was going to offer-- sure--"bribe"--the state guy a bottle of Champagne, but since I'm a complete teetotaler I didn't have one handy-- and my health prawwwwblem has contributed to my poverty, so I didn't have money to slip him either--but--LUCKILY--he vanished before he allowed himslef to get too upset--- WHEW!!!). Just wait 'til you hear my cah tok query!!!!!!

I have ourchased three used cars from Stage One and been
pleased with each of them. Larry who handles the sales
treats people with respect. He does not hard sell at all,
quite the opposite. You feel as though it is your decsion.
The front desk staff, Chuck and Brian keep the busy sales,
repair and body work departments of the business working
smoothly. They have provided me with advice as to which
repairs to have done first and I trust their opinions.
Ed handles the Auto Body end of the business. Again honesty
and fairness abound.
The people at Stage One treat their customers as
intelligent consumers.
I plan on continuing to use this shop for all my automotive
needs.
