Al has been our mechanic for 20 years. He is an absolute genius and an honest one at that!!!

al can usually diagnose the problem over the phone - you could use him to fill in when you go on vacation. we've used him for over 20 years - we found him when one of his (now former) mechanics used to complain that he wouldn't let them "fix things" unless they were really broken - unlike dealer's shops where "they want you to replace anything you can until you finally figure it out..." he also complained that al was not amused if a customer had to bring a car back... he expects us to get it right the first time, can you imagine that???" only in our dreams until we found al! he's worked on a porsche 924 - 160,000 miles; 3 audis - 150 to 180,000 miles; & a wonderful old saab turbo - 190,000 miles. he's also a character with a wry sense of humor who doesn't suffer fools well...

I have taken my cars to Al for 20 years. He's the best mechanic I have ever been to. He is absolutely, positively, completely honest. He always explains the problem, and ALL of the options. He never steers you towards anything you don't need. In fact, many is the time that I thought I needed something more expensive and he talked me out of wasting my money. Between me and my wife, we have taken quite a few makes of car to him (Saab, VW, Pontiac, Honda, Oldsmobile, and Audi)and he has been great with all of them. I now live 20 miles away from him, but I still take my car to him. He will take the time to solve the problem. I recently had an intermittent electrical problem. The stuff mechanics hate, because they are so hard to trace -- a lot of time and not much money, if you even find the cause at all. He took the time, pored over wiring diagrams etc, until it was solved. Plus, he is an incredibly nice guy. He has a really dry sense of humor and a is interesting to talk with about just about anything. I think he should open a bar next to his garage, that way he could fulfill his genius for mechanics and repartee at the same time.

Al has been my mechanic for over 25 years. I have trusted my and my childrens cars to Al. I can always rely on a honest, fast, and safe job fom him and his crew. I have recommended him to scores of people with only one person not agreeing (personality thing). I hope I stop driving before he retires.

I was very impressed with Al and his honesty. I was mislead by the local BMW dealer and thought I'd have to deal with a $600+ repair that turned out to be not correct. Al's fix was under $40. I took the time to explain what was wrong and what he did to correct the problem. I'm sold!!! I am recommending this shop to my friends and family.

Al the owner is one the crankiest human beings on the face of the planet, he is also one the the best and most honest mechanics. I've used Al for over 26 years.
