I've only had work done with Yuki once, but I had a lot of fun in his shop. His enthusiasm for his job is very evident. It was a weekday, and though he seems to do brisk business most days, we had a lot of time to literally talk shop. He's got a small-to-medium-sized shop with several beds. I didn't meet any other mechanics besides Yuki. He has many, many years of experience with different models. He's not a perfect speaker of English, but he is a good communicator. He worked for a BMW shop formerly, and proudly explained how he rebuilt his own older BMW from scratch. We discussed in detail several maintenance jobs and minor repairs I plan to make in the future. He made several good referrals for body work and tires. I definitely plan to go to Yuki's shop again.

Yuki is an extremely great person. He knows how to talk to his customers. He truly knows his work and i can always tell he enjoys every minute of his working day. He is easy to talk to and listens with suck intensity. My friends and family that have recommended Yuki have spelt "Scarsdale" wrong. They unfortunately spelt it "Scardale". We would like to correct the miscommunication and put forth our regards for Yuki and all there staff at Yuki's Pit-In.

We have a 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon that we were going to get rid of. But we are moving to Mexico for a year to check it out for retirement, and we didn't want to buy a new car to go there. Our Subaru has been having all sorts of problems, but when we have taken it to local mechanics, they don't listen to us and they always charge us hundreds of dollars for repairs that don't solve a single problem that we have described. We found Yuki on CarTalk.com, and finally took our car to him. We told him that we wanted to know if the car could stand a year in Mexico and the 12,000 to 15,000 miles at least that we would drive it in the next year. He didn't look too sure to start with, but called the next day to give us a long list of repairs that were needed: his list meshed remarkably with our list of diagnoses, never discussed with Yuki before his call back. He is a genius and a holistic thinker who deals with your entire automobile, not just your immediate complaint or minimal maintenance. Plus, he said on the phone that he needed to test drive the car to check the transmission before he would do any work on it. He said, "If the transmission is bad, it doesn't make sense to do any of the work that I just listed." Tell me another mechanic who would take this approach and exhibit this degree of honesty. We love Yuki's Pit-In because we love Yuki!

Yuki's grrrreat! It took me 6 mos to find somebody I trust with my 87 Saab 900 and I'm more than happy to drive from Manhattan to see him. He did most of the work over a holiday weekend (except for parts which couldn't be procured on MLKJr Day) was very communicative when I called to check how things were going. My request for a thorough checkup/tuneup was more than satisfied; he's extremely thorough and performed at least a dozen minor fixes for nothing. The work that he charged me for was well-done, clearly explained, etc. He even rebuilt a snapped radio antenna for nothing, just for the love of the challenge, it was obvious. . . He certainly didn't treat me with any less respect because I'm a woman.

Where can I start?? Yuki is the GREATEST! Not only did he diagnose the problem correctly (note: after it was misdiagnosed by Click and Clack!), but he took the extra step of calling Honda to find out if this was a common problem and advised me to keep the repair records in case there was a recall (something which never even occurred to me!). He explained everything to me about the how the car worked when it was perfect, how and why these problems develop, and how he fixes them. He waited until 7pm for me to pick the car up and even shared his stash of cookies with me! He is also an easy walk from the Scarsdale train station so he is etremely easy to get to. I would recommend Yuki to anyone without hesitation! In fact, I am thinking of starting the Yuki Fan Club!!!!

Yuki has taken time to look at my car and not charge me several times now, unless he actually did work on it. He is competent, obviously loves his work, and he considers your situation (I am a student with very limited financial resources) and makes appropriate recommendations. I have sent two of my friends (both female) to him, and I always feel comfortable doing so.

I first saw Yuki's information on this site last year as I searched for a mechanic. I don't know the area well and did not need his services so I never aggressivley sought him out. One day I was driving by his shop in Scarsdale, I was ecstatic but I still did not need his services. A week later I was shopping about ten minutes from his shop and when I came back to my car, my trunk would not lock, I thought the cylinder had broken. I was very worried because I did not want to leave my trunk unlocked for any length of time and it was getting late. I took a chance and drove to Yuki's shop and explained the problem. I even made the old mechanic mistake of diagnosing the problem and asking how long it would take to get the part if that was the problem. He gave me a smile and said let's look at the car. He proceeded to unstick the cylinder, spray in some WD-40 and tell me everything was fine and with another smile told me "now you have one less thing to worry about". Although a small item, any mechanic could have told me that I needed parts, labor, etc. I have been going to him ever since. He always been very honest and I trust him with my car and now my family uses him also. Yuki is the greatest
